I am getting so sick before every period lately, I had a tubal May 17 2004. I get ferocious PMS, I get such horrible horrible stomache problems that last month I ended up in the ER with some sort of attack! I get cramps for WEEKS before my period even gets here. and my period sometimes is over 2 weeks late

I don't even know if it is the tubal but I never had problems like this, MY period was always regular and I did get cramps for a day or so but NOT like this..MY Mom says it is because I am 30.

I don't know about that..

ANyone else have problems like this, I really can't stand it..

Hmmmm.

Also 30. Had my tubal on April 12 when Cate was born. PMS is worse, bleeding is worse, when it comes at all, and cramping is worse.
I wondered if it's the tubal, the heart, or the stress?

I had a tubal right after my heart failure...It was awful. I had a period for a full year until i had thermachoice. Now i don't have a period. It's actually nice.

This is a link that was sent to me by a girl on another site. She had A TERRIBLE time after her tubal and has advised me against it. I also work with a young woman that just had one last year and her periods are horrible....and she DOESN'T have heart problems. But, then again....I know women who've never looked back and never had any problems....

I had lots of problems after mine as well. It lasted for about 3 years. I was actually taking Tylenol #3s for the cramping and my doctor even thought about Demerol. I had bleeding problems from the Warferin that I was also one. Finally the hemotologist decided that I could stop it since my ef was around 30%. That made the bleeding better.

I am 32 now and it has almost been 5 years since my tubal. Things are better now. I still have the cramping and the clotting, but now I get away with Tylenol 1s. They have done studies to show that women around 30 all report the same changes whether or not they have had a tubal. Some of it is do too the timing as most women who were on the pill are starting to come off the pill. They have been on the pill for so long that they cannot remember what their periods were truly like without the pill.

I couldn't find a doc willing to give me a tubal. My periods are changing, for sure. More pain, and general grumpiness for a few days.

I had a tubal after keely in 2001. My periods come long and hard and I get cramps prettybad. before I had pretty regular light epriods with no cramping. It's been over years so I am getting ready to go back again and see what they can do- It's so gros to say but I fill up a toilet with blood now and I have to wear pads because Tampons won't hold, and I just run to the bathroom and it's REALLY bad! The other day I was so tired and I had a cold and wason cold medicine- Well I started my period at night and din't wake up, I bled all over my clothes, through my down comforter I was sleeping on, threw the sheets, through the foam topper on our bed and into the matress. It looked like a crime scene. I'm kind of scred to see what they say!

Yikes, Jenn! I've been having periods like that, too.
Don't be afraid to hear what they have to say. When I went to the doctor, they did an ultrasound to rule out anything bad, then basically gave me the option of either an IUD or an ablation (see my post about that).
I'm a big weenie and holding off on either one right now, but seriously, get it checked. The treatment isn't scary, I'm just a wimp.

Don't dismiss it as a problem from the tubal. I have not had one but i had the same symptoms and upon doing a Laperscopy and a Hysterscopoy they found Endometriosis. I also know that PID can have these symptoms. Just want you to know.

My periods were MUCH worse after my tubal ligation. My cramps were like labor pains! I ended up getting on the pill to help control my periods. My sister-in-law also had really bad periods after her tubal.
Hmmm....I wonder if it's a common problem?

I found this to be a very interesting thread. I was diagnosed with Endometreosis 1n 1994. But it would come and go some months would be real heavy and others normal. But after my tubal removal. my periods have been horrible. I am contimplateing doing a hysterectomy to ease pain and give me back some quality of life.

Researchers have done studies that show women at the same ages tend to have the same changes to their periods with or without a tubal. That is the bad news. The good news is that I had my tubal 4.5 years ago and most of my symptoms have disappeared or have weakened and are infrequent. It did take about 2 years, but then I was able to survive on Tylenol#1s for pain instead of overdosing on Tylenol#3s.
