i went to my internist today for the follow up my cardio suggested. last week at cardio appointment my bp was 140/104. today it was up to 150/100something and then they checked again later in the visit and it was 160/100something. my cardio had suggested adding clonodine to my hyzaar and coreg but this dr decided change hyzaar to avalide 300/25 and no clonodine. i am doing another o2 saturation test tonight to see if i still need o2.

thanks, Sonya, for follow-up. I'm not familiar with Avalide. I wonder what your resting B.P. is at home? Do you do home checks? It will be interesting to see what your night-time O2 sat is.

Thanks Dr Fett, My resting bp at home runs anywher from 100/59 to 140/ 100 ish at any different time on any day. My cardiologist says this is called labile. I try not to take it to often because I know that can be bad, but I have at times taken it periodic through the dy and it changes. My heartrate does the same anywhere from 75 - 110. My ats test last nest showed that my levels went down to 87 on 5 occasions between 11:30 and 5:40. My heart rate was listed on there too and it ranged from 57-96. Is that odd? I haven't heard from docs office yet.

I suspect that your lower oxygen sat tests on those 5 occasions represent times when you may have had obstructive sleep apnea, but the only way to know for sure is to do the polysomnography follow-up test.
