I am not sure where to ask this, but wondering if perhaps Dr. Fett could tel me of a specialist in ppcm on the east coast? I would willing to travel or even fly to see a specialist who actually has experience and research/education in PPCM. I am discouraged and tired of talking to my cardiologist who i can barely understand anyway, much less he knows nothing about ppcm:(

thanks in advance-

JEN

Jen- I don't know where you live, but I have been very impressed and have several other noted specialists from other areas in the country who recommend my doctor in Boston. Her name is Dr. Lynne Warner Stevenson and she is out of the Brigham and Women's Hospital. She specializes in Heart Failure/Cardiomyopathy. I was seeing a top spclst in Chicago at Loyola University and she told me if I wanted someone more local, that Dr. Stevenson is someone who she goes to hear speak and highly respects. Where do you live?

Also, Dr. Kenneth Baughman, Brigham & Women's Boston, is one of the top ppcm specialists in the world. Dr. Ed Kasper, Johns Hopkins, is also excellent. Dr. Dennis McNamara, University of Pittsburgh, has great experience with cardiomyopathies and heart failure. I consult with these three in ppcm research, have met with all of them at various places, and under their umbrella of care you would find great expertise in the field of ppcm.

Thank you so much. I live in Upstate NY, but my husband's family is down in Boston, so we are there often.

I will try to get in to see one there asap.

Thanks!
