Tina I wish I could help. I may be a nurse but I can't make heads or tails of an ultrasound! Maybe it is the baby and the placenta?

I would imagine if it where twins they'd tell you.. with my post ppcm baby that is one of the first things they checked for, they said your chances of PPCM are higher with twin pregnancies and they wanted to rule that out. if it was twins I would have been monitored even MORE closely they told me. So I am assuming they'd have let you know..
I would say maybe placenta and baby

looks to me like teh babay has his his/her head down and the stars are right by his eyes, then you can see his arm and his feet and the picture is kind of cut off?

Tina, how far along are you now? Did you ask them at the time they were doing the ultrasound? I'm pretty sure they would have told you if they thought it could be twins. I'm guessing that it's probably one of your internal organs or something???

We didn't see it until after the Ultrasound.. The very top is Placenta in the middle left is the butt and bottom right looks like a face..
I have to have another Ultrasound next week to check his heart so I will ask then, the lady was new to doing OB ultrasounds..I was also told it was a girl when I know from my last Ultrasound it's a BOY..
People have been freaking me out for awhile because I have gotten so big so fast(I am the size now I was at 30 wks last year, and only gained 4 pounds) and telling me that twins can hide from the Ultrasound..
I am 19 wks, halfway done since they will check his lungs at 37 wks or earlier..

So is it a boy or a girl then? From the way you are talking it sounds to me like it's still a boy??? If they are getting the gender confused, then maybe there could possibly be two in there. Maybe in the first ultrasound they saw the little boy and then in the second one they saw the little girl  .

I am hoping when they do the Fetal Echo they will know if it's one or two(I think one but everyone else thinks two)..I say it's a boy the first Ultrasound you could really see his parts and this last time he was bottom done and the first one he was head down so better look..

It appears to only be one baby in the U/S. The middle "oval" shape is his head (facing down), the lighter small oval shape to the right is a shoulder and just below that is the baby's thigh (left), calf and foot. It is kind of cut off.
I am no expert, but I have looked at a TON of ultrasounds! It sounds like your last tech was no expert either! Good luck at the next one!
P.S. It is totally normal to appear farther along in 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. Your stomache muscles are not as toned and they tend to "convert" to the pregnancy shape much faster than they did the first time.

I had to have another U/S today for a Fetal Echo and it's just one BIG baby BOY he is 13 oz and I will be 20 wks Wed..His heart looked great and the Tech this time said that the last tech was full of it and my Placenta is in front so it made it appear to be two..
I for one I am so glad that he is just big and not two I don't think my Heart could handle two at once..
