OK girls!!!! You know who you are....the brave women that have defeated this disease and gone on to have beautiful, healthy babies.....
What meds and what dosages did you take throughout your pregnancies????
I go in next week for my echo and we make the DECISION !!!!!!
Just wanted to have some "successful" info for my docs!!!!

Diagnosed while pregnant - was put on Hydralazine, Digoxin and Lovenox. Once hospitalized, I came off the Lovenox and went on Heparin.
Lots of luck with your echo. Let us know !!
I was only monitored without meds during my pg. If it were to happen again I would definately be asking to stay on the Coreg (or at least after the first trimester).

P.S. Good luck with the echo! We are all rooting for you!

I wasn't on any meds initially they put me on hydralazine and imdur but it was making me sick so they took me off of it. I went on with the pregnancy med free.
I personally feel I should have been on coreg. My HR was high my whole pregnancy and I feel that a lot of the girls that had NO reoccurance where on coreg and it must benefit a post ppcm mom. Just my opinion though no medical basis, LOL!

I was not on meds as well during my post ppcm pregnancy. They said that would be on an as needed basis. the only symptom I did have was avery high heart rate the whole time, but they said that could be in any pregnancy so they just watched me carefully. At about 6 weeks when my heartrate jumped up I was pretty sur ethat I was doomed to have PPCM again but thankfully i got through the pregnancy pretty smooth. I would LOVE to know why I had ppcm once but not again and why we get it in the first place. Good luck with your decision Jenn

Actually, there might be alot to that statement, my cardio personally feels that staying on beta blockers is a pretty big benefit, although she says the reasons why are not fully understood.
I was not on Coreg because she felt there wasn't enough data on it during pg, but was on Toprol XL instead... only 25 mg once a day though, but my HR was always in the 60s, I never have been able to tolerate a very high dose of any of that stuff.
I was also on imdur and hydralazine, but it took me a few weeks to adjust to that (got some pretty bad headaches from the imdur).
I did experience a loss in function (down to 30% from 45%) and I haven't had a repeat echo yet but I have a feeling it's already bounced back... I feel pretty great.

I was on a low dose of Lopressor, 25mg a day after the first trimester and I am still on it until I am 9 months post pardum just as a precaution.
My hr stayed very low durning my pg and is now in the 50's.

I was put on 12.5 mg Coreg after my first trimester, and stayed on it until two weeks before Noah's birth. I did not resume the Coreg, and my Cardio says that she would not necessarily put me on Coreg if I got pregnant again because I did so well last time. The Coreg was used as a precaution, and it did give me peace of mind that the load on my heart was being somewhat reduced. On the flip side, I was anxious to get off of it near the end of my pregnancy because it can inhibit labor somewhat and because how much is excreted in breast milk and the impact it would have on nursing babies is unknown.

I know my suggestion is a bit late but I'm on Lanoxin 2.5 mcg (everyday) and Lasix 40 mg (as needed). I'm 8 months now and they took me off my Zestril when I was 3 months because it damages the baby's kidneys.
