Hey all,
I have been doing SO good lately...exercising, eating right and feeling really good. Then all of a sudden on Sunday I started feeling short of breath again. I am tired, weak, nauseaus and just feeling miserable. I am also having discomfort in my chest. Not really pain but just a tight uncomfortable feeling. I am hoping that I just have a "bug" but I am worried. I think I will go into the doctor today and see what they say. Does anyone else have increased shortness of breath when they get ill with the flu or something? Maybe I am just having a bad couple of days but I am scared that my heart is getting worse again. I also just started my period and have had two migraines in the past week. I am on Coreg and Cozaar but thought I was tolerating them ok. Is it normal to have a stretch of time that you feel well and then go through a "rough" patch during this recovery? I am frustrated as I thought I was doing so good. I know I need to keep my spirits up but I just want to curl up in a ball and cry (Maybe that is the PMS talking!). I hope this goes away soon. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks,
Mindy

Mindy,
I advise you see your doctor anytime you experience a change. If for no other reason, for your own peace of mind.
Having said that - almost every time I feel what you're experiencing, I can attribute it to either PMS, or the weather. Exposure to extreme heat can do that to me - and it need'nt be very long. Just running errands, really quick in and out of an air conditioned car or store, can be too much.
I hope you feel better soon.
Sending Midol hugs your way.

I feel short of breath sometimes, I get heart palps and extreme fatigue about a week before my period. My cardio FINALLY admitted that alot of her heart patients that are younger and still have their periods complain of heart symptons when they have PMS. She thinks it is hormonal.

Obviously if you are feeling bad see your doc.. but I know that I feel really bad before my period..

Hope I helped ease your worried a little

I decided to go to my regular doctor just to get checked out. She couldn't see me so I had an appointment with the nurse. She said that everything looks ok-heart sounds ok, lungs clear, etc. She suppects a virus that will resolve in a few days. They did blood work to check for anemia, etc. so I should know the results of that by tomorrow.
I am feeling a little better this afternoon. It is just so frustrating to feel like you are taking steps backwards in this recovery process. When this heart problem first started 8 months ago I thought I had a cold. Little did I know that it was a heart problem. Now I don't trust my insticts as much. When I feel a little sick I worry.....what if it is more than just a "bug"? I feel better now that I had someone just check things over.
So, hopefully I will be feeling back to myself pretty soon. Thanks for the advice.
Mindy

I hope you are feeling better. My whole household (all three of us!) was down with the most horrible 24 hour flu the day before yesterday, all I can say is thank god we have two bathrooms!
And now I think I gave my husband food poisoning cuz he is back in the bathroom tonight, I am glad Jett and I ate a different dinner than he did tonight! :D

I am glad that you went to the doctors and had yourself checked out. I am sure you feel alittle bit better knowing that nothing major is happening with your heart. Now, maybe you can relax alittle and get some rest. I remember when I was first diagnosed, maybe even for the first year, I always was very very tired after a busy day, which only included going out for about 1 hour and coming home and doing laundry, I was exhausted.............The next day I was totally wiped and could not move off the couch. Then the following day I had my energy back again and feeling like wow I am going to beat this heart condition. Then POW down again in th morning...................So, I came to the conculsion that every other day I could do something little and to rest the following day. And, now I can do something everyday and be like the energizer bunny. Yes, I am 5 years out but before you know it you will be there too.
