we drove 250 miles so that I could have an exercise stress echo and they wouldn't do it, they said they hadn't performed the test on a lady in my situation before so therefore wouldn't know how to interpret the results. They did say that I can go back and have a dobutamine stress test on another day but I feel wary of dobutamine - I am searching for a private clinic that will do the exercise stress echo - Dr Fett do you know of a clinic/hospital in the Uk that would do the test for me?
I had a stress test, lasted 13.5 mins on the treadmill and reached my target heart rate 187. My recovery time wasn't good at 6 mins post test HR was still 117 (my resting HR was 96 as I was quite anxious, it's usually between 60-80). Should I be worried about this or is it probably just down to poor conditioning?
I also had a new specialist echo which enables the tech to see scaring etc. she said my heart looks totally normal, normal lv shape and no scarring - so that was worth while at least!
best regards
