Dr. Fett,
I was perscribbed Percocet (oxycodone) for pain relief due to a breast cyst removel. I am feeling some pain and I am afraid to take the percocet incase it is not heart friendly. Is it a blood thinner? Is it safe for the heart? Should I take something else?
Thanks,
Stephanie

No problem with that choice in your situation for more severe pain. Your doctor made a good choice. If you have mild pain only then fine for going with acetominophen alone. Feel free to check with your doctor and pharmacist if any lingering doubts.

i took percoset the whole time i was in the hospital for heart failure because i had a c-section. i took at least one percoset a day, because the pain from my incision was unbearable. as far as i know, it did not hurt me at all. i still recovered without complications.. if i was ok taking it at 35%, you probably will be ok too.

Thanks. I got away with splitting a tab and only taking a total of one pill the whole time. I am feeling much better today!! Oh, I also remember taking it in the hosp. after my c-section too! I am not big on meds and only take them if I really, really need them.
