Hi Tina,
I am on Coreg 3.25 mg 2x per day. I just switched to Coreg from Toprol (about 3 weeks ago) so I am planning on upping the dosage here pretty quick. I am also on Cozaar 50mg 1x per day. I also take COQ10 150mg. 1x per day.

Non-heart meds are-
Nortripyline for migraine prevention (aren't migraines fun?)
Prilosec for reflux

I have been curious as to what dosage of the Coreg everyone is on. I am wondering how much I will be able to tolerate.

Hi Mindy,
As you can read I'm on 18.75 mg of Coreg twice a day. Like you I started at 3.125 and they have uptitrated it. As you can read in another post it took a long time to reach this dosage and in my team of doctors they are still argueing about the question of going to 25 mg. I think I'm close to my tolerancelevel now, but even after 6.25 they thought it was the highest dosage I could tolerate. So they had to uptitrate it really slowly and after I was on 12.5 I had to go back to 6.25 because of worsening of my symptoms. So my advice will be take it slowly if you have problems, but also give it time. Now I can say (after two months on 18.75) it benefits me.

Valerie just wondering if your dr told you that if your ef was at least 30 you could come off of your warfarin? My daughter is at a 40 and she is still on it. She goes back this afternoon for a checkup and hopefully an ECHO and we will know more. Just wondering about the warfarin. Tammie

Tammie,
About the warfarin it depends on your medical history. In my case I had different clots in my heart when I was diagnosed. So since then I use warfarin. I asked when I could stop using it because I also thought with an ef of 40% of more you could stop. My doctor told me that because of the clots he expects me to use it at least one or two years before he will concider stopping it.
