Off subject but if you are very allergic to penicillin and go into shock/ rash can you get side effects if your spouse is taking the medicine? My husband is on penicillin and this morning I woke up with hives and no other symptoms. My doctor hasnt called me back. thanks

I have no clue but I am thinking maybe if you kissed or did some extracaricular activities last night, maybe it can be passed in body fluids..

Wow that is quite the question. I'm allergic to Penicillian as well and if I was to be injected I get a rash with bruises but my husband is a diabetic and he was on amoxicillian and I didn't get anything from him, even with kissing or other activies ;) . My guess is maybe you ate something or caught something from outside at the same time he took the medicine and that is why you may think its from him. I'm not sure but its a nice thing you called to ask your doctor. Let us know if it's possible.

It can pass through body fluids. No more messing around while the man is sick!!! ;)

For the most sensitive, those who would have an "anaphylactic reaction" with exposure to penicillin, may possibly also be so sensitive that exposure to body fluids of a person taking penicillin, such as saliva and seminal fluid, that they manifest allergic reaction symptoms.
