After my son was born in August 2004 I was dianosed with PPCM, my EF was 40%.
In Feb when I had my 6 month follow-up my EF was 55%, I became Pregnnat again in March (very much not planned but very wanted).
I also had Pre-Eclampsia and pre-term birth at 35 wks..
I have hear that PPCM and Pre-Eclampsia does not happen together is that true?
What's the chance of this happening again?

I am on Coreg and Lasix during my Pregnancy..

Pregnancy and pre-eclampsia (or toxemia of pregnancy) can be seen together, and the frequency of the two together various from only a few percent to 40 percent or so. "Experts" may disagree if there is any relationship between the two, but in my experience they are two separate diseases. Both may re-occur in a next pregnancy, and one must be very cautious. So far as PPCM is concerned it is very dangerous to enter another pregnancy if left ventricula function has not returned completely to normal, because that pregnancy in such a situation could lead to more severe limitation of heart function, even death (both of which have happened in our series of patients).
