Hi all,

Just curious as to at what age you delivered your post PPCM baby? My husband and I are going to see my cardiolgist in August (6 months after being off all med's). He's going to do an echo and see if my heart has improved without the med's. At that point (if there was improvement)he said he'd "consider" talking to me about another baby. I just turned 36 in April.

Thanks for all your input.

Love,
Kari

Hi Kari-

I'm 37 and 13 wks pregnant. I had my son at 35. My EF is in the mid to upper 40's and they actually believe my diagnosis is DCM not PPCM. I am not on meds as they did not make a difference in my numbers. i'd be happy to talk to you further anytime. Good luck. Julie

I was 30 when I delivered MIkey, I really don't think age matters, I think if it is going to happen it will happen at any age, With Belle I delviered her at 27.. and I got it, there are girls even younger than that..

I wouldn't let your age play a huge facotr in your decision, if you want to do it and you see improvement, go for it, LOL! :)

I found out I had PPCM with my second pregnancy when I was 19 and had an ef of 19% and it took 4.5 years to get to 74%. It has been 8 years since dx and I'm 34 weeks pregnant now and my last echo showed 60% and I have felt great the whole time.

Not sure age has anything or not to do with PPCM BUT>>>>>As a Mom 3 times I can tell you. I delivered my first at 29, my second at 36 and my third at 37! The younger I was the easier it was on my body! Just my personal experience! Well wishes to you on you decision!

Hi!

I was only 25! My ef is back up to 64% and my doctor has said he thinks it is partly because I am so young? Who knows though? With ppcm a lot seems to be speculation! Good luck!

I was 32 when diagnosed with my first last May. My "1 year anniversary" is approaching and my husband and I are currently working on our second, and I am going to be 34. :)

I was 27 when I was dx with ppcm and I just delivered my post ppcm baby a little over 2 weeks ago and I am 31.
So far everything is still completely normal this time around! :)

I was 23 when diagnosed and I will be 26 on my due date. So far so good this pregnancy, but it is possible I also have DCM, not PPCM.
