nephrotic syndrome

Dr. Fett,
What can you tell me about nephrotic syndrome? I saw a note in my medical records about it. I'm curious because I have been having an ache in back on my left side that I thought was a sore muscle, but now that it's on my right side, I believe it my kidneys.

I've called my doctor and am waiting for a call back.

The nephrotic syndrome is a type of renal (kidney) disease of varying severity from mild to severe manifested by an increase in serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen.
