Doing great! I had my third trimester echo today, my heart function has remained the same, WOOT! The only thing my cardio is concerned with is increased PVCs, but we've known about those... my Holter in Jan. showed an increase. In the interests of keeping them to a minimum, especially during labor, she is increasing my Toprol just a smidge... but not much as my BP was 91/63 today.

So we did alot of talking about the birth and labor and so on and she will be meeting with the other docs in my team soon to discuss plans... should be pretty uneventful assuming I don't have any unforseen complications between now and then.

She says she'll want to monitor me closely for the 12-24 hours following delivery since there is extra fluid volume present during that time.

All in all a great appt!

I go back in 2 weeks for follow-up with her and with OB.

I'm glad you are doing okay. I will be 29 weeks this Friday, and I had also been experiencing an increase in my palpitations. My cardiologist doesn't seem that concerned about it though. I have been having an echo every month and they have been consistent between 45-55 EF. He has me on Toprol XL 100mg 2x a day and digoxin once a day. How much did your cardiologist increase your Toprol to? If you don't mind me asking. He seems to be pleased at how well I'm doing, and I don't see him for another month, unless something out of the ordinary happens. Thanks for sharing your update!! I look forward to hearing more about your progress!

Sounds like you are doing really well too. Glad to hear such great news from all the prego ladies on the boards. Keep your faith and everything else will follow. Good luck to you with the rest of your pregnancy.

Gerie, I'm on Toprol XL 37.5 mg once a day. Not much! I never have been on a high dose of any of the beta blockers (I was on Coreg before this) because my HR gets too low and my BP drops too much, so it doesn't take much of it to get the job done.

I'm also on hydralazine and imdur, to replace the ace inhibitor I was taking pre-pg.
