When I was diagnosed with PPCM, I swear I had a temporary memory loss. Sometimes when parting my childs hair I would have to ask my husband which side I did it on, I couldn't remember how many scoops of formula etc.. I have adult add very bad, it is starting to affect my everyday life. Do we know exactly what causes memory loss with pccm sometimees? Is it lack of oxygyen, or a side sypmtom or not related? thanks

While some of that may be the result of lack of sufficient oxygen to the brain during the acute phase of heart failure with PPCM there is another potential cause. If the EF is below 35 percent, it is possible to have blood clot (thrombus) form in the left ventricle and for a small piece or pieces (emboli) to break off and be carried to the brain, where they may cause evidence of stroke, or in a more silent area of the brain contribute to things like memory. Did your EF ever fall below 35 percent? What is it now?

Sorry I just saw this again!
My ef was around 30% and it has been almost 10 years..my memory stinks so I guess It's not blood clot. I wasthe one whom you spoke to quite a bit before the boards with a lot of MS symptoms after diagnoses, maybe I can attribute it to that..however I'd like my memory back!

Thanks for the additional information. Hopefully your memory will recover completely. I believe there may be some special rehab services available for such things, since speech therapists sometimes deal with somewhat similar issues.
