Today I 've been to the gyn to hear the results of the test because of my period problem. The good new was nothing wrong with my hormonal levels. He told me the ultrasound scan of my pelvis showed a cyst of my right ovarian. Because of my heartcondition he don't want to do anything at the moment, except checking it regulary. If it will cause more trouble, like pain we will discuss this again. He still thinks my period irregularity is caused by the spironolactone.
I remember from the other board there were more women with ovarian cystes. I like to hear other stories, are there any?

Had many many cysts, but thankfully, none lately.

I've had two that ruptured. Severe, "oh my god I'm dying" kind of pain there. Both times on my right ovary - never had to take it out, thankfully.

If you're not trying to acheive pregnancy, and they're not hurting you, I'd say forget about them. It can be a sign of Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, and you may be able to control it somewhat with nutrition.

Good luck. I hope you stay pain free!

I've possibly had a ruptured cyst back in November of last year. I was having bad pain in my lower abdomen, like very severe menstraul cramps. I thought it was my appendix, gall bladder or my IUD (Mirena). Then I went in and had a pelvic ultrasound done. I also had lots and lots of bloating and even gained quite a bit of weight. They found some fluid in the cul-de-sac (sp?) area and think it may have been from a ruptured cyst. They didn't give me any medication or anything for it. They said that eventually the fluid would be re-absorbed by my body and I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. I think if they do find a cyst and it becomes too bad to tolerate the pain then they might eventually remove it. You would have to check with your doctor on that.

I have had problems with cysts, but by the time I get to the U/S, they have ruptured, thus ALL the pain. Pain like kidney stones, and child birth.

This last time was in November, and they removed the ovaries because they thought they were cancer, one ovary was 14cm, the other 6-7 cm. They were found to be blood filled and not cancerous.(Thank goodness, my OB thought for sure they were cancerous) They grew that big in the course of 3 months. I had to have a hyterectomy the yr previous because I hemmorhaged. They left the ovaries because of my age. OH well...gotta love being in the hospital every 6 months....:)
I hope you get your answers and if you have any questions, just ask, or email.

I should add, they think my coumadin may have played some roll in the bleeding.
