Do you ever have trouble getting your meds? If your like me I came home on so many that the insurance wouldn't even cover them all. And what about other meds i would go and get my heart meds then get sick and need antiobiotics, uti meds, or allergy meds. I know it has to be hard for some financially, how do you do it. Oh and thats not to mention if you have kids or a hubby that has to get meds.
Speaking of meds I still don't know what to do about mine, my gp reduced my Coreg to 1/2 of a 3.125 Coreg bid. I took that dose and got sick again. I get so sleepy and weak that I think I might even be passing out. And my bp today after not taking any for 36 hours is still so low. My gp is afraid for me to stop the Coreg though. "sigh"

Hi Melissa,
I just wonder did you ask your cardiologists opinion about this? Speaking for my elf I have always more faith in his opinion than in my GP's opinion. Maybe it is not just related to the Coreg.
And are these still the Mexican ones you're taking?

Which meds is your insurance not covering ? I've heard of them paying only for a certain generic med, but I've not heard of them just not covering at all.
Also, are you still taking a diuretic ?

I am not a Doc but I really really think you don't need the coreg anymore, that is exactly what was happening to me at the LOWEST dose, I felt a world of difference once they took me off.. I am still on vasotec, but the coreg was just too much for me once my ef got up to 55%.
Talk to your cardio..
As for med coverage, mine isn't too bad, I do knwo I pay alot more if there is no generic form of a drug. the other day one of mikeys ear infection meds was 45.00. I was in shock!

I never took the mexican meds, I was just asking a while back because we were in Mexico and I seen how cheap they were. If they were safe then when we went back we were going to but some, but since I found out the info on them we are not.
I called the cardio today and he said to dc the Coreg and if I was still sick or got worse to call again and he would have me to come in. So now I am on zero meds that is absolutely none, zilch, nada one. Yippe :D
As for the med ? I have no insurance and none of our family does they refuse to cover us because of our health probs. Hubby makes to much for medicaid but the kids have it. I don't know what i'll do if they stop the baby's her meds are over $1500 a month not counting her doc visits. I got the bill for her surgery and not counting the doc fee it was over$11,000. That is crazy. Her medicade will cover it though.

I know that once my ef got above 55 I was so tired on the meds. once I got of the coreg my energy level is just great. Some of the meds my heart dr or gp would give me samples. Especially the coreg because it wasn't listed on my insurance companies formulary list now thank god I'm off of it because we are uninsured.

If you have the opportunity to be insured through a spouse's company benefits, go for it. Seek it out if you have to.
My medical bills last year came in at just under $250K. $75K of that was medication while in the hospital. Cate's 9 week stay in club med was almost $500K! We met our deductible of $1500 and didn't have to pay another cent towards the bills.
With insurance covering my meds, I pay roughly $100 every three months for everything I'm on now.
I can't say enough good things about United Healthcare. I know not everyone has that option, but if you see any way possible to put yourself in that position, GO FOR IT! I had United Healthcare through my employer at the time of hospitalization. When I was released and at the time that I became gainfully unemployed, we switched to my husband's UHC policy through his employer (we worked for the same company).
And if you're currently working and have short term or long term disability insurance available to you, BUY IT! You can't afford not to!!!!!
