I had mentioned before how sick I was getting after taking my Coreg. Today at the gp office when I told him he said maybe we should back off on it some. He cut my dose in half but said not to stop it because it was to dangerous without it. Does anyone know why with an ef of 65? He also said that he thought my bp was dropping so fast it was sending me into tachacardia(sp). I took the half dose and got sick again so Monday I will call the cardio.

He scheduled Rose for an echo 4/27 just to make sure, with all that is going on. And he seen her so active today , trying to sit up,ect. That he said I would say the sky is the limit for her!!!!!! :) :cool:

As I just learned in the hosp. You don't want to go cold turkey on the beta blocker because you can suffer withdrawl, which can cause arrythmias (sp?). That's why they try to back you off very slowly.

Also, you can get an artifical boost in EF when coming off of a beta blocker. The beta blocker can actually suppress your EF a little bit (in an effort to "train" your heart to pump stronger). The anesthesiologist who explained this to me said that it's like strapping cement blocks to your shoulders to train you to left more weight. Of course, he also looked JUST LIKE Ty Pennington with a shave, so I might not have been paying enough attention to what he was actually saying....
