these are things I here from every Doc at every visit that are almost humorous and so I would like to know if you have heard the same and what you think about such guidance. It began a little over four years ago when I wa 8 months pregnant with my youngest and I complained to 2 drs that I was extremely fatigued and short of breath and both said, " You have a 7 year old and twins who are 22 months these are typical pregnancy problems." No big deal right. One month later I'm in ICU at 10% Ef. HMMMM Now I complain of severe fatigue and I get oh you have 4 kids. Granted this is tiring, but I feel that my fatigue is worse than just four kids. I mean my mom had four kids I have friends that have four kids nad they do not have days that they literally cannot function on a normal level and have to lie down periodically for rest. if there is anyone else out there with lots of kiddos that feels the same way it would be good to know. I am currently at 40% and on all my meds I was initially on although he has worked me up to high doses in order to keep my bp in the 70/ 110 range which it is slightly abov most of hte time I also have elevated heart rate. I have had ppcm for 4 years and this has been my story over and over again. I am tired of going to drs because I here the same story every time. I feel like I am stuck at 40% and not moving. Which is livable and fine as long as I am around for my girls. OK If you ar still with me at this point I know this is a long post my favorite is when they look at me after they have told me that some of my fatigue is due to having 4 young children and say that I should get plenty of rest. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. They are all men by the way whose wives are at home with there kids. LOL I don't care who you are unless you can afford a nanny "plenty of rest is not in the vocab. Anyway thought I'd see if any of you irls had similar thoughts and does it make you want to skip the majorly expensive dr appointment s just to be told that you have 4 kids(or WHatever you may have) and you should get rest. Ok guess I am done now. LOl

I have 3 kids and I get that from the docs all the time. My EF was 45% last year. I am now 5 years out from my lowest ef. The nice thing is that my docs were able to get me on disability because the 3 kids make me tired!

Hi, Thanks for posting this subject. I don't have four kids, just two but I absolutely feel the same. I'm very tired all day, but especially when I have to look after my kids a whole day. I always try to remember if I feel the same as before ppcm, but than I only had one kid (and I worked, studied, sported, went out, etc). And I can't remember I ever felt the same. The problem now is, in my opinion, I don't have some spare energy. So when it's finished it is totally used and it takes a least one day to get some energy back. In school holidays I need some help, because I won't survive the week without. I really need some rest in the afternoon.
It is difficult to understand for people. They always tell me you just have to live with it, take it easy. Yes, that's more easily said then done!

I only have two kids but i feel like i have four. I raised Christian on my own before i met my husband. I was never this tired. I work five days a week and take care of Christian and Owen. I am exausted. I totally understand how you feel. Measuring food for Owen seems like work. I don't know what to say, blame it on the PPCM, either that or im getting old.

Both of my OB docs belittled me also. Just flat ignored my symptoms. So Scary. You need to be as prepared and as educated as you can be. Infact I had one laugh and say I have another patient that swelled up like you have and she came in for her postpartum check up today and looks great. NOT THE THING TO SAY....But yes This is definately substandard care in my mind. !!!!

Yes, I feel the same way. I only have two kids also, but I have a home daycare and am usually chasing around six every day (very tiring). I'm actually thinking about canceling my appointment next month because I haven't finished paying my last bill yet for an echo that I never even really got any results from (long story). I don't go to the docs for every little pain anymore like I use to. I figure that as long as I can "function" and get through the day (as tiring as it is) than I will skip those unnecessary appointments now.
