i went to the ob on monday, he gave me the blood test routine, HIV etc. the nurse told me to call back tomorrow to get the results of the pregnancy. so i called, no results. i called today, no results. then she called me and said i need to go back in and redo the blood test because my hcg levels aren't as high as they should be for as as far along as i should be. i think she said they were 260, and i think i conceived around the 23 of May. so she asked if I had any bleeding, and i said no. she said since i was on birth control that may be why the actual day of ovulation may be off?

well i don't know what to think. i am not sad or upset, i don't like to over react when i don't know all the facts. anybody know anything about pregnancy and birth control, if it can cause you to spontaneously ovulate?

I can't help you on the bc issue but I can tell you that both of my pregnancies were with low hcg levels. My first ( who is now 11) the level was so low that the only way it showed up was with a blood test until she was 11 weeks along. My secound was also low and she was 8 weeks along before it would pick up with urine. My ob told me after the first preg that my next pregs would probably be low to. They were but he said not to worry it doidn't mean anything was wrong or the timing was off but that my body was just different than most. He actually done an ultrasound as soon as we found out I was preg because of the low hcg and said everything looked fine.

Being on birth control pills will make you ovulate at odd times. 260 is a good number.. you're probably just not as far along as you thought you were. The key with HcG is that it needs to double every 48 hours. If they do another test in 48 hours and it is going up then it's fine. Once it goes over 1000 they can do an ultrasound to date the pregnancy.

Don't worry. It's probably fine.

Glad to hear that they are doubling like they should. I know that I watched mine really close when I first got pregnant with Jacob. Sounds like you're moving along smoothly.
