hey ladies.... i am sitting here in disbelief..... i am on birth control in fact i was just switched to yasmin (this is my second month). on the 23 of May my hubby came home from being gone for 3 weeks and we "did it" like 3 times with in a few hours. the next day my abdomen ached as if i ovulated (my ovaries have always been sensitive). i really blew it off like i was just sore from "it". well i have been super tired the last few days and i went to the store today and bought a test. there are 2 lines (pregnant). one is not as strong as the first but VERY visible. i guess i will take another one tomorrow morning.
the last time i got pregnant i was on birth control, i don't know what it is.... i am very anal about taking it at the same time everyday. my last echo said my ef was 40-45, the one prior was 40. my next is in july, i might have to get that bumped to next week. i wanted another baby but i wanted to be healthy and fully recovered. i can't tell dh (he is currently floating down the Mississippi river on an oil rig) he would worry and want to come home. do you think i should see the cardio before i tell him? he was a marine for 8.5 years and appreciates knowing all of the facts.

I know if it was me I would tell my husband, I am not that type of person to keep things from him no matter if it is bad news or good news. I would definitely take another test in the morning just to make sure and then yes, I would tell hubby and yes I would call the OB and then cardologist. Congratulations by the way..............................
By all means, take another test and then get on the phone!! As for telling your hubby, only you can decide. Congrats!

I am sure your husband would want to know what is going on. Definitely confirm the results with another test or a trip to the doctor for a blood test. Then you can go from there. Good luck!!!!!

I would call my hubby first and tell him and share your fears and concerns and joy together and then go an take another test to make sure. If indeed it is positive then I would get all of the doc appts lined up. If it is negative I would take another next week to be sure then figure out a better form of birth control. BTW the 2nd and 3rd times you "did it" you probably didn't get preg from. Your husband only has one amount of sperm and it was used up the first time. Lots of people think the more they do it the more they get filled up but that isn't true. I worked in Urology for years. It takes 48-72 hours for a fresh batch of sperm to be produced to replenish what was spent. I am praying for you and your family to make the right decision and by all means the beginning of that is truth with your husband.

My first thought was to make sure you do NOT take your ACE inhibitor. A new study just out shows they are not safe at ANY time during pg (we used to think they were safe during the 1st semester).

Alright I am going to be honest here
1. If your pG test says + then you are pregnant so I would not waste time running all over looking for blood tests to confirm anything
2. I would call your cardio before calling ANYONE else. The first trimester your fluid already starts to shift and with an ef already slighlty compromised you COULD have problems and your cardio shoudl know right away to check your ef and change if need be your meds..
3. You should then call your husband and talk this over with him.. tell him you ARE seeing your cardio and you are on your way to learning everythign you need to know to either continue the pregnancy safely or take an alternate route.
4. Your cardio probably will give you a blood test to confirm PG and advise you on your options and insight as to what they think. YOu have to take EVERYTHING into consideration, talk with our husband and make a decision that bests suits your family..
I know you are now probably thinking well I can't take everything my cardio says seriously becuase they advise EVERYONE not to have babies and look at all the women on here who have done great, remember YOU are in a different catagory if your ef is really 40-45% still..
On a positive note alot of heart changes could have occurred since January
YOu have a difficult decision to make and a difficult time ahead I really will be thinking of you and if you need anything please pm me..
XOXO

well i told my hubby this morning after i took the other test, and he is more supportive than i thought he would be. he said that he is worried and he is scared, him and my daughter need me.
i made an appt. today with the cardio for 2 pm, i think i'll tell him about the pregnancy thing after he tells me my ef. i need a straight forward answer.
i don't think it has really hit me yet, my mind isn't allowing me to go there. i feel like i lost the control again, like i did when i was on life support. i know the reality of the situation, and i think im avoiding thinking any happy thoughts, just in case i have to make the decision for a difft path. i almost feel numb. i put on the strong "voice" for hubby and said whatever happens i'll be ok, but i know it's so much harder than that. well i need to put Ellie down for a nap. thanks everyone.

You've got a lot on your plate right now, so I'm just going to keep you in prayer today and hope you get good news from your cardiologist. I am happy that you talked with your hubby and that he was supportive.
