My doctor's office called back and they're sending me to get an ultrasound of my leg at 3pm to rule out a clot. Hopefully there isn't one but it still hurts and a PE would explain my shortness of breath..

We'll see..

If you are short of breath, shouldn't they do a VQ scan too ?

Hang in there.....we are rooting for you ?

Last week when I saw my doctors and told them I was short of breath they immediately thought about CHF, I don't think a PE occurred to them. I guess it would stand to reason that if I have no clot in my leg then I probably don't have a PE. I would imagine if I do have a DVT then they'll look for a PE although I don't know if they can do a VQ scan when pregnant. We'll see.

Ask them to run a D-Dimer too on your blood! Those are great in PE's! I pray that all of this will resolve for you soon. I pray that it isn't a PE or CHF either.

Had VQ scan while pregnant with Cate.
Of course, they prefer not to do it, so there has to be very strong suspicion.

They did the VQ scan when I went to the ER after palps that made me pass out..but not an echo. That didn't come until 2 or 3 weeks later.

Got on real quick to see how you are doing Laura! I too had a scan the night I had my PE on my lung, while I was 34 wks preg. I hope that they tell you just need to eat more bananas!! Let us know how it goes, I'll be praying for you!

Yay.. no clot. :) They made me wait for 45 min in a hot stuffy waiting room and then the lady wanted me to lay FLAT on the table.. hello..

But yay no clot. So I would bet that I don't have a PE if there's no clot in my leg. When I got home my cardiologist called and she suggested increasing my digoxin. I'm going to try that and see what happens. I see my OB on Thursday.

And I made it through another week because tomorrow is 29 weeks!

It's just so hard to feel useless.. I feel like a blob on the couch who can't do much while my DH does everything when he is here. So fustrating. But there is a prize at the end of all of this..

Hey Laura--glad to hear that there isn't a clot, I have been thinking about you this afternoon. Love the animal theme--it sounds really cute! When I was off work while I was pregnant with my girls I would organize my spice cupboard or my pantry--have you done that 5 times yet? LOL Of course, I didn't have 2 yr old twins to take care of while I was pregnant. God Bless YOU!! Take care of yourself and congrats on 29 weeks!! You are almost there:) :)

Try to remember you aren't doing nothing. You're only growing another human being. Sometimes, that just has to be enough. :)

Glad there was no clot!!! 29 weeks, YAY!

I'm so glad to hear it isn't a clot! Shew. Just relax while you can. This time next year you'll have three little ones running around wearing you out wishing for time on the couch to do nothing :D

Laura,

I am so happy for you! No clot! That is an answer to prayer. I sympathize with how you are feeling. I was pretty much told to sit still during my last pregnancy around 20weeks. It was such a useless feeling, but I now know that things would have gone a lot worse if I hadn't! Just take care of the little one that you are growing and let the twins feel like they are "helping" mom.;)
