Baby Rose's Heart

She came through her surgery fine. She still has an ng tube till tomorrow but, her bowels are starting to wake up. There are some irregular heart rythms going on today so they are going to have a cardio look at her today. :( :( I have asked for them to check her heart out since she was born! :mad: If they would only listen to me.That is why this malrotated gut was missed. Her OLD doc just ass umed she had reflux and treated her for it till I got this new doc and when her UGI was done they found this. However she is recovering well. I will post again under this heading when we get new updates.

They said here arrithmias appear to be benin(spelling). Does anyone know what that means? They said she would probably have it all her liThey meds appear to be fine. The vomiting was due to the malrotation of the gut. A cardio is watching things. They said they may do an ekg but not for sure yet.

A benign symptom means that it won't harm her. I'm a mom to a little heart patient, one with several issues.

They must have done an EKG to determine that there is a rhythm disturbance? Maybe they will do an ECHO?

Oh, my, where have I been? I didn't even know she was having surgery. Were the seizures any part of this, or is that a separate issue? I'm glad everything went well. I'm sending prayers your way and hoping she has a good speedy recovery.

She has what they call a midline malformation. Basically when you have a malformation in the brain then anything down the midline of your body could be malformed. She spiked a temp last night despite the tylenol and morophine combo it was 99.8 then she stated sneezing and she was having trouble breathing so they suctioned her, and gave her a bath to cut the temp. Oh and her oxygen started dropping last night it got down to 86. Oxygen is fine now and resp is dropping down to 8. They are going to give her a suppository when she wakes so she can have a bowek movemnt, will not take out the ng tube till she has one.

Her tube came out at 1:00 pm if she doesn't vomit they will feed her pedialyte this evening. She had abowel move at noon, and an ekg done. They are going to get a genetics up here to consult wiht and see what other tests should be performed. However we may get to go home on Sunday and if so we are just going to stay the night until Monday at the Ronald House ao she can see the genetics before we go home. But at least she will be with us there. I finally made a big enough fuss for them to check her heart. I guess they got tired of hearing it. :D

We can go home on Sunday if she eats and keeps it down, but if she vomits 1 time we have to go back to the ng tube and start over and shes gagging every time we try to feed her.

Ok a few thingts that are really worring me. Her oxygen is dropping to 90 and it drops to 80 if she crys. Her pvcs are going up to 7 while asleep and way high when she crys. Her resp is going down to 8 when she sleeps, and the cardio done an ekg to rule out conduction. What is this? Are these things normal? I just want to take my baby home and things to be back to normal! :(
