Hi!

I was up all night thinking of ways to help educate doctors and other women about ppcm.... wonder why I have a heart condition? Could it be that I stay up all night stressing? Just kidding. Anyway, I contacted the American Heart Association today. They are going to help me contact the media and also the doctors in the area. I am going to have my story published in their newsletter, on their website and hopefully will be on the news shortly! SO EXCITING... to finally do something instead of sit around and feel sorry for myself! Also, they are going to have me meet with their advocacy counselor to get started lobbying the legislature about some kind of bill concerning women, heart disease, maybe even ppcm specifically! I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for the encouragment from all of you here. You have helped me to see things in a different way and I am once again excited about life.

Keep up the great work on getting the word out about PPCM. It sure does need to get out there and known about. Good for you for being so proactive about it! Let us know how it all turns out.

Thanks!

I am so excited. I just got off the phone with a local reporter who does stories on health awareness... I think it is going to be on the news! I really hope to do something like send letters to all ob/gyns in Utah but it seems like it may be a little costly for all of the postage! I also think it would be really neat to set up a support system for women who get diagnosed with this. I remember feeling so scared, helpless, and hopeless with my diagnosed. I was very alone. I wonder what all of you think about me putting together care packages that have information about ppcm, support groups, and other personal items (I don't know what yet, any ideas?), to give each woman upon diagnosis. I think I am going to try and get a grant to do this! Thanks for all of the support. Remember that one voice can make a difference! let's all keep trying to get the word out about ppcm and I know we will conquer!
