So, I went for my gestational diabetes test on Wednesday and of course they call me yesterday with the news I was expecting. Blood sugars are very high and my glucometer is on its way. I am a little bummed bc I was hoping having it with my son could be attributed to being a little overweight and sedentary. I am none of those things now so I guess its in my genes.
Yuck! I did it with diet before, here's hoping I can do it again.
My ob is talking about inducing me at 38-39 weeks if I am 3-4 cm dialated. I was thinking that I was too crazy about the idea. Now, any time I don't have to prick my finger and watch the clock to see when I can eat again will be a good time. Let's do it.
On the positive side, my bnp results came back at 15 of 100 (which is very good) so maybe my heart will be good this time:)
Just wanted to fume a little....although I am happy to even have the second chance. Count my blessings, right.

Ugh....so sorry you are facing this again.I have come to realize GD is totally a random thing (with some genetic influences). I was very fit and very much in shape and below my ideal body weight when I got pg and STILL got GD. It is just not fair.

Oh yuck, that's okay (pricking your finger) if your heart remains stable...RIGHT? I've had a tough time with this pregnancy...tired, uncomfortable, he kicks and hurts etc., I say, small price to pay if my heart remains stable!!!
Hang in there!

I am sorry that you have to deal with gestational diabetes but I am glad that your heart is stable...that is most important right? I wish you the best!

Thanks for the words of support. It means a lot.
I was actually more paranoid about the diabetes than the ppcm. Although at dx my ef was 15%, I rebounded very quickly so I honestly feel like it cramped my style for a couple of weeks at the most. (Sorry, I know many of you didn't have that experience, but I was lucky in that regard) Last time it took me 3 weeks to control the diabetes and then it was just difficult to go anywhere, do anything bc of food restrictions. I will get through it, bc now I just have to figure out what triggers my sugars to rise. I am having a better time adjusting than with my first pg. The nurse said that controlling this time could be completely different than with my first.
Sorry for the pity party and the heart being good is definitely the best part of the whole scenerio and hope it will stay that way. So far so good with 14 weeks to go.

Pity parties are totally allowed.. you're pregnant after all! :)
I failed my 1 hour test last time on a Friday and of course freaked out and decided I had GD until my 3 hour test the following Tuesday.. it does suck but you will get through it. There is some really good sugar free chocolate out there. . :)
