Two days ago I had a really bad day and a lot of chestpain. I felt it deep inside my chest on the left side and in the back side. It was a cramping feeling like my heart was caged or trying to shrink and I felt total crummy. Since yesterday I feel much better. No chestpain at all and no symptoms.
On the board some people wrote that chestpain can be a symptom of the healingproces. Before I thought that this could not be possible, because pain much mean something wrong. Now I'm changing my mind and think it can be a good sign. Do people recognize this? I like to hear your stories!

I totally think it is healing, I know from APril to June I had tons of chest pain after Belle, I went to the doc and my ef had gone up from 15% to 55%. I can't say it is tru for everyone so obviously if you are having alot of chest pain call your doc. I also ONLY had chest pain, I had no SOB or swelling etc.. I think it makes sense when you think about it, all that healing..
I don't know if you will fidn a doc that will admit the pain is healing, but I know it was for me. :)
I hope you are doing TONS of healing ;)

Thanks Carianne!
I absolutely agree with you, but I'm also aware there are different forms of chestpain and I will not say chestpain in general is a very good sign. But this pain/feeling was a strange one and in my opion it is the one concerned with healing like you meant. So be always aware of what you feel and when you don't trust it seek help. I was just curious about other ones experiences with this strange thing. I still like to hear healing stories!

I can tell you that my chest hurt for several months.....and my docs did tell me it was part of the heart's "remodeling". After my enlargement started to subside, I felt better. My doc told me that I would "KNOW" when to be alarmed.....that the pain would feel very crushing if something else was going on. But, it's always a good idea to call the nurse just for re-assurance.

Whevever I went to the doc or cardiologist about chest pain during the first year or so of PPCM, they would always ask me what type of pain it was. Almost all of the time it was smaller sharp dull pains. They always told me that was probably just a part of the healing process also. If it is long and excrutiating pain then I would probably be more worried. So, I don't really even bother stressing over those little pains too much anymore.

I get them when I'm filling with fluid, Lauren. It's usually a sharp pain right in the center of my left breast, and sharp pains across my shoulder blade in the back. Alot of extra lasix *usually* clears it up.

Costochondritis can also cause sharp pains due to movements of the ribs or vertebrae. So deep breath in or out can give a sharp pain at that moment on one area of your chest (both left or right). Pressing on your ribs or spine causes the same pain. In rest it can feel like toothache. This is something women have quite often, it's called syndrom of Tietze or chostochondritis.
