Well, last week, I had to wear a holter monitor for 48hrs. By the end of it I was miserable, stinky (no real showers), itchy (allergic reaction to the sticky leads) and tired (couldn't sleep well with it on). I was never so glad to have it off!

Well... I got a call from the hospital today. I was surprised that they would have the results so quickly. But no.

Apparently, there was something wrong with one of the connections & it caused a short in the monitor. There was not a SINGLE THING recorded!!! AARRGGHH!

So now I have to wear it again. Next week. Lucky me.

*sigh*

oh, yuck. eww.
Turns out I'm allergic (to almost everything) to the adhesive on those little pads. They do make pads for people with sensitive skin/ I have to be a pain in the back side and demand them everytime. Even just a brief time with the other pads during an EKG will make my skin bleed.
Maybe you can ask for them too? It won't do anything for the inconvenience of wearing the thing, but maybe it'll help the itching?

I can feel for you since I just had mine removed last week also. I asked them not to rub my skin with that BRILLO like pad and they didnt. I told them that last time when they pulled the leads off they pulled my skin along with it. It hurt so bad that to even shower I was in pain. They listened and it was much better this time. Maybe you can try and ask and see if they would do that for you. It didnt change the results of the monitor at all. Let me know what happens.
