Hi everyone! Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts. I am now 3 1/2 wks post partum and feel fantastic except for the sleep dep. You never get used to that!! I am recovering from the c-sect fine and had an echo before discharge which showed a possible higher??? ef - 50-55%. I'm not getting too excited yet though because that was the reading the tech did- not my cardio. The same office once read my echo at 30 and my cardio read it at 45. I don't see her for another week so I'm at least satisfied that nothing worsened. The fact that I feel great is very reassuring. I had no complications and was treated like royalty being high risk and having cardiac monitors. I even had 2 private nurses for 36 hrs. Talk about good care! I'd be happy to share my experience with anyone who's preg now or thinking about it. Keep in mind, I'm a little different as my cardio believes I never had PPCM but have had mild DCM for about 10 yrs. Oh, and Daniel is doing great too. He's a good baby so far! Great to be back in touch- thanks again for all your well-wishes!!! Julie

Wow ! I am SO glad you are doing so well and amazed at the hospital that gave you two private nurses, LOL ! You should write a letter to the hospital administrator applauding their efforts at being so vigilant with you.
Glad all is well. Encouraging news like this is wonderful.

So happy to hear that you are doing well. In my case, there is definitly a question of whether or not I have DCM or PPCM. So, I am glad to hear that you did ok with a diagnosis of DCM too. I would love to talk to you more about your experience! I have a wonderful son who is 2 years old and I would love to have another baby but, of course, all of my doctors have said "no"! What was your EF before you got pregnant with Daniel? My EF now is around 50% so I am getting close to that "recovered" range. Congratulations!

Mindy, I generally had an EF around 45-50% by echo and 50% by MUGA/MRI.
I was told I had probably been operating at this level for a long time and it was my "normal". More importantly to my doctors was how well I did in my first pregnancy. No real complications. I'm not on meds either. What was your first pregnancy like and how did your DCM get diagnosed?
