In a discussion about flu jabs with other DCM patients, I was to told that it is recommended in the UK to have a pneunomia jab as well whenever you have DCM. It is just one jab in a lifetime.
I'm diagnosed with PPCM/ preexisting DCM with an exacerbation after pregnancy. My GP is willing to give me a pneunomia jab, but I'm not sure about taking it. My EF is still on the low site and my heart is enlarged. What would you recommend?

I think when you use the term "jab" you are referring to immunization or vaccine. If so, yes, definitely, vaccination for pneumococcus (pneumonia) protection (not 100 percent protection, but about 80 percent) is definitely indicated for anyone with heart disease, so long as there is no allergy history against the vaccine. Same for influenza.

Yvonne,

I've gotten the Flu and Pneumonia vaccine / jab - as have my children with no issues.

Good luck! How are you feeling these days?

Thanks, I'll go and get one. I just had my influenza vaccine today.

Serena,
Thanks, I'm feeling well. I still have the feeling that I'm gradually progressing. I didn't have an echo for a long time so I can't prove what I feel with hard numbers, but I hope one day this will be showed. Tomorrow I have an appointment in the hospital for (another) increase of my BB. It will be the final step to reach the target dosage. I'm quite sensitive for it, so I hope everything goes well.
How are you feeling these days? Feeling a bit better after your surgery? I hope the fact that you're able to write on the board is a positive sign.
Take care!
