Dr. Fett - medication ? for you please

Hi Dr. Fett,
I just started taking Tikosyn about a week and a 1/2 ago. And I have felt very angry since I started taking it...like I almost snap in a second. Is there any information on this medication making people more irritable or something like that?

Hi, Shannon. I don't have any experience with this medication. In fact, I had to go to the books. Any new sign or symptom after starting a medication warrants talking with your doctor and pharmacist about it. There could be a connection. Do you have or did you have atrial fibrillation or flutter? You're the first ppcm patient I've known to take that medication.

Hi -
I take the following: tikosyn, digoxin, lasix, aldectone & toprol. I have atrial fib which leads me into v tach about 30-50% of the time. Which is why they put me on the tikosyn. I talked to the nurse about it last week but they said it was not a known side effect, but I wanted to check with you since you have so much experience w/ PPCM, I thought maybe you could shed some light for me. :o I guess I am just dealing with all of this finally :confused:
