My husbands grandmother (98) fell and broke her leg and has been in the hospital for almost 2 week. Today, my husband and I went to see Grammy B. at the rehab unit that she has been moved to. She has a very young roommate. Just before we left, her roommate was leaning over talking to Grammy B. and I saw her name band. I recognized her name as that of a woman I spoke with on the phone about 1 1/2 yrs ago who has PPCM and who lives in a nearby town. I asked her if she was "so and so" and she said YES. Can you believe it? We have only spoke on a few occasions and its been close to a year since we last spoke and have never met. I am truly amazed that our paths have crossed, even more amazed how I figured out it was her. We hugged and cried and hugged some more. She has a 2 yr old and 5 yr old. She had surgery for what they thought was a cyst somewhere on/near her uterus. It was not cancerous, but they had to do a hysterectomy. She lossed a lot of blood during the surgery as well as the doctors nicked her bladder, so she has another set of complications. Because of her PPCM (her EF is 20%) and all that she's been through, they put her in this rehab hospital. We didn't have long to talk (my husband has bee dealing with a Kidney stone for 2 months and it decided to flare up while we were there....timing is everything). I can't wait to go and see my grandmother again and to see Patty!!! I will do a better job at staying in contact with her. Say a prayer for her and her family. :)

That is such an amazing twist of fates to run into her. When I was little I was playing with some kid on the beach in HI and it turns out our parents had been friends. Just goes to show you never know who you will run into and where.

I just love those stories. You two are destined to be friends. Hopefully she can find her way here, too!

How very awesome.
Just remember that everything is for a reason. She's come into your life several times now, so the reason must be pretty important.

Sending prayers for your friend and your grandmother.
